Tom Sawyer is the protagonist of The Adventures of Tom Sawyer. Tom Sawyer is very cunning, smart, lazy, adventurous, willing to love, and doesn't care for school or church. I think Tom's motivations are probably just have the most fun and make the best of every thing even in the worst situations. Sometimes that means tricking people to do the work for you; for example, the white wash fence. In the white was fence scene he had to white wash a fence for his aunt on a Saturday evening because he skipped school to go swimming. Tom decided to trick other boys into white washing the fence and even paying Tom to white wash the fence! I don't think that Tom believes in anything because he very unwilling to go to church and then he doesn't even listen when he is at church. Also Tom actually cheated to get a bible. Tom I think actually believes in something because he prays when he needs to or in dire situations.
Huckleberry Finn is the boy that no parent wants their children to play with. Huckleberry is the most looked up to person for all the other boys because he do whatever he wants whenever he wants. For example, Huck doesn't have to go to school like all the other boys. While everyone is at school Huck goes fishing and swimming and no parent bothers him and tells Huck that he can and cannot do. Huckleberry is not educated I believe because he needs Tom to teach him how to write the initials of his name when the sign a contract. Unlike Tom Sawyer I don't believe that Huckleberry has any motivations. I believe this because Huckleberry likes to do whatever he wants. In my opinion I think he's just living life. Huckleberry's personality is that he likes to have fun even if it involves taking risks, is the boss of himself (not any adults). Huckleberry also appears to be tougher than he really is in the story so far.
Becky Thatcher is the "love of Tom's life". Becky and Tom are "engaged" until they had a big fight involving Amy Lawrence; Tom's other girlfriend. Becky has blond hair and blue eyes. Becky's personality is that she is sensitive, hard working, and unsure of things around her. I think that she is unsure because I feel that she doesn't go into things with complete confidence and she will follow others instead of making decisions for herself. Becky's motivations is that she wants to be the best that her ability brings her. Becky seems to always try her hardest in school and just in about everything that she does. I think that Becky Thatcher does not believe in God because Becky is the type of girl that would pay attention in church and believe in what wants to believe in.
Aunt Polly is Tom's deceased mother's sister. Aunt Polly has stated many times that Tom just breaks her heart. Aunt Polly says this because she doesn't want to give a spanking to Tom when he is bad but at the same time she doesn't want Tom to continue doing what he is already doing. I believe Aunt Polly's personality is the type of personality that doesn't like to be wrong. For example, when Sid broke the sugar bowl she automatically started to spank Tom and when Tom said that he didn't do it, she replied in a flustered voice that he probably deserved it for something else that he had done that she has not learned about yet. Aunt Polly, I also believe is a lot more sensitive than she actually appears to seem. I think that she wants the best for Tom and does love Tom very much.
Joe Harper is Tom's best friend. Joe likes to play and skip school, just like Tom does. Both of them like to to play Robin Hood in the woods, go swimming, or even go fishing. Joe does seem to like everything to be fair and play by the rules. For example, when Tom said that if the person could keep his tick on their side then they would get to keep playing with it. When Tom couldn't get the tick he tried to take it back, but Joe Harper wouldn't let him because the tick still hadn't crossed over to Tom's side. Another example of this when Joe wanted to hit Tom in the Robin Hood game but it only would be fair if Tom got hit by Joe since Tom hit Joe already. Joe Harper seems to be a very kind child and seems to be a friend that Tom will always have. Maybe one day Tom will be very grateful to have a friend like Joe Harper.
